Yumna started her journey in Occupational Therapy with a love for children at the University of Cape Town. Her passion for children and their development grew as she started her community service year in Kimberley, Northern Cape. She then went on to work in a special needs school for children with severe intellectual disability for 2 and a half years. This led her to move to mainstream schools, where her love for sensory integration grew. 

Yumna keeps herself up to date by attending regular courses about the latest and relevant techniques and practices. She is a strong believer in play and all the benefits that it brings to children, and adults too.

Yumna is registered with the Health Professionals Council of South Africa (HPCSA), is a member of the Occupational Therapy Association of South Africa (OTASA) and serves on the OTASA Western Cape Branch committee as their marketer.
